Poets, writers and artists gathered in 32 states — as well as in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, London and Singapore — to express their opposition to President-elect, Donald Trump. The flagship event in New York City was hosted on the steps of the New York Public Library and co-sponsored by PEN America.

Many are afraid that Trump, set to be the next president of the United States, will infringe on the civil liberties of minorities and immigrants, as well as throttle individual freedoms guaranteed in the constitution. He has steadfastly maintained his unpredictable public persona, spewing divisive and threatening messages through his Twitter account.
